PRECAST GEL

Precast gels are ready-to-use polyacrylamide or agarose gels designed for electrophoresis, eliminating the need for manual gel preparation in the laboratory. These gels come pre-cast in plastic cassettes with defined well configurations and concentrations, ensuring consistent performance and reproducibility across experiments.

They are primarily used for separating proteins (via SDS-PAGE or native PAGE) or nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) during electrophoresis. Precast gels improve workflow efficiency by reducing preparation time and minimizing variability due to manual casting. They are available in a range of acrylamide concentrations, gradient formats, and well counts to accommodate different sample types and resolutions.

Key benefits include:

  • Time-saving setup for rapid electrophoresis
  • Improved reproducibility and consistency
  • Reduced risk of polymerization errors
  • Long shelf life when stored properly
  • Compatible with most standard gel tanks and blotting systems

Precast gels are widely used in routine protein analysis, Western blotting, nucleic acid separation, and high-throughput screening environments.

ATTO Corporation offers a range of precast gels designed for efficient and reproducible electrophoresis applications. These ready-to-use gels eliminate the need for manual preparation, saving time and reducing variability.
