Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregµLatory and inflammatory processes. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to the CXC subfamily of cytokines. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils.
